Prior action - Prior counteraction

Perform a necessary useful action or measure (completely or partially) in advance, to obtain a stronger effect.

Carry out counteractions or preventive actions in advance, to avert unwanted effects.
 

HINT:
  1. Compensate a negative tendency by linking a process or business field in danger or risk to a guaranteed successful and strengthening process or business field.
  2. Distribute your resources in advance, such that they can act without additional costs or delay from the best position.
  3. Ensure in advance the availability of suitable ''lifelines'', such as cash reserves, free production capacity, specialists and skilled personnel as well as technical measures.

EXAMPLE:
  1. With a merger or co-operation of two companies, each side brings it's own individual excellence for their mutual benefit.
  2. Increase falling turnover figures by combining products in great demand with those in less demand.
  3. Political parties exploit current topics of discussion to boost their popularity.
  4. Anticipatory risk analysis in project management can result in the identification of problems and the initiation of appropriate countermeasures a few steps in advance.
  5. It is often beneficial if engineers have worked in sales, customer support or assembly before starting with the development of a product.
  6. Communicate with the workforce before introducing structural or technical changes in the company.
  7. Does "Murphy's law" ring a bell? The "worst case" situation can happen any time. Always have a "life belt" at hand.
  8. Meeting rooms with no seats such as in a stand-up cafй reduce the waste of time.
  9. An arbitration clause written into a contract reduces the risk of court cases.
